How To Find Out If Your Loved One Is Here

  1. The Orange County Sheriff's Department has an online inmate locator that shows whether someone is in custody and where they are housed. Booking takes time, so someone arrested very recently may not appear right away.

  2. After booking, your loved one may be moved to another county facility, such as Theo Lacy in Orange or the James A. Musick Facility in Irvine. If you are not sure where they are, call us. With their full name and date of birth, we will find out.

How Bail Works At The Intake Release Center

Bail for someone booked into the Orange County jail system usually follows the county's bail schedule, approved by the judges of the Orange County Superior Court. If bail has not been set, a judge decides at the first court appearance.

The Intake Release Center's bail window is open 24 hours a day. Once bail is set, we handle the bond. You pay a premium instead of the full bail amount, and we explain the premium, payment options, any collateral, and the cosigner's role before anything is signed.

When it makes sense, we can meet you at the jail, at your home, or at another agreed location.

What Happens After The Bond Is Posted

  1. Because every release in the county jail system is processed here, your loved one will most likely be released from the Intake Release Center in Santa Ana, even if they were housed at another facility. Release can take several hours after bail is posted. We cannot promise an exact release time, but we will tell you what to expect.

  2. Their court date and location are on their paperwork, and depend on where they were arrested. Going to every court date is the most important part of the bail agreement.
